  • What exactly do The Organizing Girls do?

    We help you organize your project/s step by step through the entire process. We look at the space that needs to be organized, discuss best options for you, coach you through the pairing-down process, organize, and find optimal places for your things. We can also assist in getting your old “stuff” donated or recycled. The tax-deductible receipt you receive might just pay for our services!

     

    We can also help you stage your home for sale. A well staged home is the key to a quick sale!

  • What is Staging?

    Staging highlights your home’s strengths, downplays its weaknesses and appeals to the greatest pool of prospective buyers, thereby selling your home more swiftly and for more money!

  • How long will my organizing project take?

    Not as long as you think!

    It is surprising what can be accomplished with one 4 hours working session.

    Our clients will tell you that we quickly size up the situation, make a plan, roll up our sleeves and get to work! With large organizing projects, we can give you “homework” to work on in-between sessions to help you move forward at a pace that is comfortable to you. You can always wrap up on your own, or have us back to finish any remaining tasks.

  • How much will my project cost?

    We charge by the hour and will never exceed your budget…that is our guarantee!

  • I’m moving, how can you help?

    Prior to your move, we can help you pair-down and purge, so that you are not moving things unnecessarily. We can meet movers, project manage and ensure your move is organized and successful.

  • Isn’t being organized just a matter of common sense? What will a professional organizer do that I can’t do myself?

    Organizing is a mix of logic, common sense and creativity. When we’re stressed and overwhelmed all those seem to disappear! The Organizing Girls will use objective eyes and ears-as well as a creative mind-to help you step back, regain clarity, and view a situation in new ways. We will even have some fun along the way!

  • I Don’t Want to Throw Anything Away

    No problem! There is a “back door” method for getting organized that provides quick, effective, long-lasting, and painless results. Luckily, almost everyone, even those who have struggled with organizing in the past, can learn how to do this – you already have the skill! The method is: Simple but consistent categorizing; putting “like things with like”. Everyone recognizes that “this is a hammer; it goes with tools; this is a T-shirt, it goes with clothes; this is a candy bar, it goes in the kitchen.” It’s just about that easy! If you can also get rid of things, so much the better, but you don’t need to let lack of skills in that area stop you from getting organized!

  • What Payment Methods Do You Accept?

    We accept cash, checks and credit cards. We will invoice you at the end of each session, and would like payment at that time.

     

    We don’t require a deposit, but we do have a cancellation fee of 50% within 48 hours, and 100% within 24 hours.

  • Do you bring supplies with you?

    Yes. During our consultation we will determine what (if any) supplies you may need and can arrange to bring them with us.

  • How soon can I get an organizer here to help me?

    We try to schedule consultations quickly so we can make a plan for what needs to happen next. You will be well on your way to organizational bliss in no time!

  • Do I have to be present when the organizer is working?

    We believe you are best served by being present (or at least available) during the organizing session. During the pairing-down process, you must be there to make decisions. We do not eliminate anything without our client’s consent. After the pairing-down stage, the organizer is able to work independently.

  • What do I need to do to prepare for the organizer?

    Nothing! Well…nearly nothing!

     

    The best way to get the most out of our time together is to not schedule any conflicting appointments on our workday, and to relax the night before. Give yourself credit for taking the first step toward getting organized! There is no need to do any pre-sorting or other organizing-type preparation, because that’s what we’re here for!

  • Do you service my area?

    We service the North Shore and Northern Suburbs of Chicago. If you are outside the area, please call us for special arrangements.

  • Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

    Yes

  • Will we really have fun?
